Because of the popularity of football,
especially the NFL, each football season many Sports Books in Las Vegas and throughout
Nevada offer weekly and/or season long football contests, often in an effort to attract
as much traffic into their casino and sports book as possible.
A number of
the contests are free. Some carry a modest price tag to enter ($25 to $250). Others
are more of the "high end" variety (such as the Las Vegas Hilton Super
Contest) with entry fees of $ 1,500.oo and upwards.
These contests offer prizes
of $250,000 or more and many pay over 100 places. Some of the contests even offer
"rebates" on their entry fees in the form of free slot play or offer end
of season prizes in the form of cash and free slot play.
Some contests offer
weekly prizes of several thousand dollars. Some contests offer season long prizes
of $5,000 to $100,000 or more. And some contests offer a combination of weekly and
season long prizes.
The majority of the contests involve picking the straight
up winners of NFL games (usually just the Sunday and Monday games). A few contests
-- mainly those that carry entry fees of $250 or more -- involve picking winners
against the pointspread. Some contests involve just college football.
Contests
are available for almost every budget and for fans with varying degrees of knowledge
and interest in football.
These contests have become increasingly popular
with residents and seasonal visitors to Las Vegas and Nevada.
But there
are also ways for non-residents and occasional visitors to participate in these weekly
and season long contests -- BY UTILIZING THE SERVICES OF A PROXY. Read on for details
and further information on these contests and available proxy services.
Most
contests require the contestant to enter IN PERSON in Las Vegas.
Depending
on the specific contests rules, a contestant may or may not be required to submit
their weekly selections in person.
In some contests where 'in person' submissions
are required, a contestant is able to designate a specific person as a proxy who
is authorized to submit the weekly selections for that contestant (such as the Las
Vegas Hilton NFL Super Contest).
For contests that do not require weekly selections
to be submitted in person a proxy is nonetheless needed for contestants who are not
able to be in Las Vegas to make the weekly selections. No Contests allow for submissions
by telephone or over the Internet.
Since moving to Las Vegas in 1991
Andy Iskoe of Logical Approach has entered many of the football contests offered
and sponsored by the Sports Books in Las Vegas. In fact, in 2010 he will enter the
Las Vegas Hilton Super Contest for the 20th consecutive season.
In addition
to having had great success as a contestant in most of these contests over the years,
he has also been a Proxy for contestants who live out of town and are not able to
make the weekly selections in person at the various Sports Books.
In 2010
he shall again be offering his services as a Proxy for contestants who are unable
to submit selections in person.
The key to an effective Proxy/Contestant relationship
is communication.
Over the years Andy has developed an organized, structured
and sensible system for disseminating and receiving contest selection information
with the contestants for whom he has served as Proxy. Details of that system are
explained below, both before and after the descriptions of most of the weekly football
contests that shall be offerred for 2010.
The Proxy procedure is similar for
all contests with minor variations due to time and/or deadline variations that will
vary according to the specific contest.
Using the Las Vegas Hilton as an example
emails are sent on Tuesday evenings by Andy Iskoe to the contestants for whom he
is a Proxy. The email will contain the lines for the upcoming week's games as well
as the contestant's results for the previous week and season-todate results. In addition,
standings are provided for contestants occupying positions that are currently in
the money (top 20 and ties).
The contestant is then responsible for providing
Andy with his/her 5 contest selections by either email or telephone (or both) by
6 PM on FRIDAY evening (or at a later time as mutually agreed upon) so that the selections
may be submitted to the Hilton safely in advance of the Saturday 11 AM deadline.
The
Fee charged for the Proxy Service is agreed upon with each contestant and is based
upon the specific contest or combination of contests entered, the number of entries,
the complexities of "administering" your weekly entries/selections, and
other factors. The Fee can either be a flat, up front one time fee or a combination
of a flat, up front fee and a percentage of any winnings earned by the contestant
as mutually agreed upon by both Andy and the contestant for whom he serves as proxy.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss using Andy Iskoe as your Proxy
please either call him at 702 - 898 - 9802 or contact him via email at logical7@cox.net
Information to be updated frequently
during the next few weeks as details become available so please check back often.

CONTESTANT

subject to the approval of LeRoys.
HIGHLIGHTS This contest carries
a modest entry fee with contestants allowed up to 5 entries. Contestants make one
selection each week against the pointspread. Once an entry has accumulated 3 losing
selections that entry is eliminated. The contest ends when only one entry remains
with fewer than 3 losses and that entry wins the entire prize pool that is expected
to be from $ 75,000 to $ 100,000.
FORMAT -- This is a "King of the Hill" or "Last Man Standing"
Contest but with a twist. Contestants make just one (1) selection each week on an
NFL Side or Total using contest lines established by Leroys during the week. All
lines will have half points so there are no ties. An entry is eliminated after making
3 losing selections. That is, if you lose in week 1 you still are alive in week 2.
Lose in both weeks 1 and 2 and you are still alive in week 3. But once an entry has
had 3 losses -- whether it be in the first 3 weeks or at any point later in the season
-- that entry is eliminated. The winner is declared when just one entry remains without
3 losses. See the PAYOUT section for what happens if at the end of the season there
are more than just one entry without 3 losses. The contest runs from the first week
of the NFL season until just one entry remains, or through the end of season if more
than one entry remains. If needed, the contest will extend through the Playoffs.
Unless the Playoffs are needed to determine a single winner, only Sunday and Monday
games are used in the contest. If the contest runs through the Super Bowl there will
be 21 weeks in the contest.
ENTRY FEE & DEADLINE -- $ 25.oo with a maximum
of five (5) entries allowed per person. Entrants must be at least 21 years of age.
Deadline to enter is Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 4 PM Pacific time.
PAYOUT
-- 100% of all entry fees are paid out to the last remaining entry after all other
entries have accumulated 3 losses. If after the Super Bowl there remains more than
one entry still alive, the prize pool will be distributed among all remaining entries
with the greatest portion of the pool awarded to the entries with the fewest losses.
If there are entries with 0, 1 and 2 losses the split will be 70%/20%/10%. If there
are just 2 levels of losses the split will be 70%/30%. There are no tie breakers
so any splits among multiple entries with the same number of losses will be evenly
divided. If all remaining entries are eliminated in the same week then those entries
will be declared co-winners and split the prize pool evenly.
SELECTION SUBMISSION
DEADLINE -- Selections may be submitted at any Leroys location and must be submitted
by Kickoff of the game selected.
SELECTION SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS -- Selections
may be submitted by the contestant or anyone he chooses. There is no requirement
for an authorized proxy so anyone may enter a contestant's selections.

selections and standings as published throughout the contest period.
ADDITIONAL
NOTES --
Leroys will offer a mid season 3 'n Out contest beginning October
24, 2010 along the lines of this contest. If any entry is eliminated in the first
3 weeks of the initial 3 'n Out contest (i.e. makes losing selections in EACH of
weeks 1, 2 and 3) that contestant will receive a free entry into the mid season contest
(i.e. not having to pay the $25 entry fee for that entry). The contestant will have
to register in person for that mid-season entry but will not be charged the $25.oo
entry fee.

to be valid. If less than 8 weeks are played all entry fees will be refunded.
HIGHLIGHTS This Contest is
similar to a traditional "King of the Hill" contest in that contestants
make one selection each week and if that selected team wins the contestant advances
to the following week. Selections are straight up, not against a pointspread. A selected
game that ends in a tie is considered a Loss and that entry will be eliminated. As
an added twist Wynn Management will designate one or more games each week that are
"ineligible" to be used with the number of games so designated increasing
as the season progresses. A minimum prize of $100,000 is guaranteed with all funds
generated in excess of the minimum number of entries to meet the Guarantee (1,000
entries) being added to the prize pool. The entry fee is $100 with up to 10 entries
per person allowed. Proxies are allowed and must be registered with the Wynn Sports
Book.
FORMAT -- Contestants select 1 NFL game each to win their game straight up (no
pointspread involved). If the selected team wins the contestant advances to the next
week. A tie is considered a Loss. Provisions are made for cancelled games and the
cancellation of any game selected by that Contestant does not result in elimination
as that game is to be made up the following week. Contest continues until only one
contestant remains (or all remaining contestants are eliminated in the same week).
At least one game per week will not be eligible to be selected with the number of
ineligible games increasing throughout the season so that in week 17 only 8 of the
16 games will be included in the contest if more than one contestant still remains.
If the contest extends into the Playoffs all Playoff games shall be eligible. Please
visit the linked page below for a breakdown of the number of games to be excluded
each week.
ENTRY FEE -- $ 100.oo per entry with a maximum of 10 entries allowed.
Entrants must be 21 years of age and have a Red Card (Players Club Card) to participate.
Althouth not specifically stated in the rules the deadline to sign up would appear
to be the same deadline for which the first week's selections are due, 11:59 PM on
Saturday, September 11, 2010.
PAYOUT -- The greater of $100,000 or 100% of
Entry Fees will be awarded to the last contestant to correctly select a winner. If
all remaining contestants are eliminated in the same week (or more than one contestant
remains at the end of the season, including Playoffs and Super Bowl) the prize fund
will be evenly divided among those contestants. There are no tie breakers.
WEEKLY
SELECTION SUBMISSION DEADLINE -- Saturday 11:59 PM Pacific time is the deadline for
submitting selection on games to be played on Sundays or Mondays. Selections for
games played on other days of the week must be submitted at least one hour prior
to kickoff.
SELECTION SUBMISSION REQUIRMENTS -- The Official Rules specifically
permit the use of a Proxy who must be present with the Contestant in person when
such designation is made.

of the use of an Alias although Contestant and/or Proxy may be required to show ID
when submitting the weekly selection.

he has also been a Proxy for contestants who live out of town and are not able to
make the weekly selections in person at the various Sports Books.
In 2010
he shall again be offering his services as a Proxy for contestants who are unable
to submit selections in person.
