The key to successful sports handicapping and to making winning selections is
information. Statistical information that shows what has happened in the past is
vital if you are to be successful. Unfortunately, there are very few, if any, sources
of the kind of information needed to do proper analysis and handicapping. Although
much of this Past Performance data and information is available, it is usually in
a format that does not allow for convenient use. And the time it would take to convert
that data into a format that makes it easy to use would run into literally hundreds
of man hours.
Fortunately at Logical Approach we've been compiling such information
in useable form for many years. We have an extensive data base for the major sports
that has enabled us to easily analyze past performances, compile Power Ratings, draw
comparisons and do many other things that are vital to handicapping and wagering
success.
And now we are able to offer this information to you in ready-to-use
data files. All you need is a Spreadsheet or Data Base program that can read these
data files, such as Excel, Access, 1-2-3, dBASE and many other programs that are, or have been,
in widespread use.
The sports available are College and Pro Football, College and
Pro Basketball (including a special file on the NCAA Tournament) and Major League
Baseball.
With these data files you can do virtually all the research you've dreamed of.
Confirm trends you've always felt were true. Repudiate old wives tales. Learn the
facts. Uncover new factors that point to wagering success. With these data files
you are in control of the information and can pick apart a team, game by game, season
by season. With this powerful information you will have a huge edge on most of your
competitors. The ones you won't have an edge on? They are already using this data
and have the edge on YOU. Negate that edge. Information is Power!!!
For those
of you interested in these data files we have sample files with descriptions of the
contents available on this website and you can look at these samples. We think you
will agree that the information is extremely valuable and will help anyone who is
serious about handicapping and picking winners.
Remember that you must have a program that can use this data. We will be happy
send you a sample file so you can see if you are able to use the information. Most
Spreadsheet and Data Base programs in use today are capable of directly reading and/or
converting our files.
All files are sold on a non-returnable basis so you
must be sure you can use the data.
To request a sample file simply send
an email to logical7@cox.net and request the files(s) you would like to
preview.

Data Files are available for all seasons beginning with the 1990-91 season
and include all Regular season and NCAA & NIT Tournament games.
All games involving Division I teams are included in the Data Base. For the 2001-02
season there were over 320 such team, meaning that there are over 4,500 records in
the full 2001-02 College Basketball Data Base file, including both the NIT and the
NCAA Tournaments.
As such, each game is entered only ONCE, designating
the HOME TEAM as the TEAM and the VISITING TEAM as the OPPONENT.
If it is a true Road Team at Home Team game, the SITE field has a "T"
indicating that the team listed in the TEAM field is the HOME TEAM.
If the SITE field has a "N" that indicates that this is a NEUTRAL
SITE game.
In many instances where there is a decided Home Court Advantage,
such as where a team may play games at several arenas in its local area, such games
are treated as HOME GAMES for the TEAM and the SITE field indicates a "T".

Data Files are available for all seasons beginning with 1989 and include
Playoff and World Series games.
Data Files are broken down by League and
by Season. Thus, there is one file for the 1998 American League and a separate file
for the 1998 National League. In most instances there are over 1,000 records in each
league season file.
Each game is entered only once in the data base with the
Home and Road teams being shown as such. Thus there will be just 162 records for
each team in the Regular season -- 81 showing the team as the HOME team and 81 showing
the team as the ROAD team.
